TRANSFORMING WAYS

Let Fanatical “transform” your point of view about television through the lives of superfans Benson Yee and Joey Wagh.

First, we visit Benson Yee in New Jersey.  A self described “old school” fan, Benson watched Transformers during its original run in the 80s.

After years of writing fan fiction, creating and maintaining his own website, and researching Transformers, Benson became a pro and is, in his own words “living the fan’s dream”.

His fandom landed him a job “fan advisor” to toy manufacturing giant Hasbro, earning him all the latest action figures in exchange for his in-depth knowledge of the 1980s series.

From there, we head to Brooklyn, New York to the home of Joey Wagh.  An aspiring “completionist”, Joey has collected 90% of the American toy line, and is looking forward to the day when his long quest to own every Transformer ever made is over.  Joey’s fascination with Transformers stimulated his interest in robotics.

Tour Joey’s massive collection, and see Joey get together with a group of Transformers fans where they work together on a robot hobby project and discuss their collections.
