For this episode, Fanatical travels to Austin Texas and the home of Xena look alike Deborah Abbott.   An artist and actress, Deborah first discovered Xena through the TV show Hercules “I was immediately hooked.  I’m attracted to strong female characters.”

Once the show became popular, several people noticed Deborah’s resemblance to Lucy Lawless and she decided to create a Xena costume for Halloween.  The costume was such a hit, that she decided to go to a convention.  

A prolific filmmaker, Fanatical is on set with Deborah as she shoots and directs her most recent Xena fan film “3 wishes”.  We also take part in a Xena surprise to celebrate the impending arrival of her first child.

We then visit Karen Muleski, a Xena fan living in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Karen is one of the founding members of Xenaversity, a fan club dedicated to keeping the spirit of Xena alive through gatherings and charity work. 

It wasn’t until Karen joined Xenaversity that she found the support she needed to come out as a gay woman.  Today, Karen leads a whirlwind life where she attends parties, conventions and engages in costume play.  She credits Xena with her newfound happiness and wants everyone to know.
