Our first stop in this episode of Fanatical is Jackson, New Jersey where we meet Josh Van Pelt, a pharmacist and ultimate He-Man collector.

His obsession to collect began innocently enough when his high school sweetheart, now his wife, gave him his first He-Man item.  Ten years later, his massive collection fills two rooms and a garage.

We’re with Josh as he experiences the ultimate fan-thrill of displaying this coveted collection to the designers at the celebrated Four Horseman Studios, makers of today’s He-Man toy line.

From there, we head to Midlothian, Virginia to visit with Topher Hance, a University Librarian and web-content editor who calls himself the “biggest She-Ra fan in the world!” Growing up as a gay teen, Topher felt a strong connection to She-Ra as he saw the parallels between his life and the struggles She-Ra faced with her femininity.

Today, as a lover of all things She-Ra and He-Man, Topher is a dedicated collector of memorabilia.  He also creates colourful customized action figures. We join him as he hosts an exhibition and interactive workshop where he shares his customized figures with a whole new generation of fans.
